Monitoring Schedule
Automatic Scanning Frequency:
Primary scans: Every 30 minutes at 10 and 40 minutes past each hour
Pre-daily email scans: Additional scans run 10 minutes before each hour when daily emails can go out.
This means around the clock, 24/7 RedditMentions is hunting for mentions for you at least every 30 minutes.
What Content Gets Monitored
Posts:
Post titles (the main headline)
Post content/body text (for text posts)
Link posts are tracked by title only
Comments:
Full comment text
Nested comments at all levels
Comments on any post in the monitored subreddit
For both posts and comments, the searches take place in the “New” section of the subreddit
How Much Gets Monitored
Subreddit Scanning
The system fetches the latest posts and comments from your monitored subreddits
Limits: 150 recent posts + 500 recent comments per subreddit per scan
⚠️ For the vast majority of subreddits, this is enough to capture all matches. However, if you are trying to capture matches in a very popular subreddit that has more than the above posts/comments every 30 mins, then RedditMentions can miss some of them unfortunately!
How matches get delivered
Your key mentions, nothing more
Notification queuing: Matches are queued for your daily digest email, but if needed are easily visible in your Matches section of the app in real-time.
Duplicate prevention: Tracks processed posts to avoid duplicate notifications, you will only get a match once.
Daily email delivery: Once per day at your chosen time e.g. 10:00 UTC
